Portland Jetport is located 6 miles from the Portland Amtrak Station. The Downeaster platform is located at the Portland Transportation Center and open to passengers from 4:15 am to 10:30 pm daily with access to the Amtrak self-service ticketing kiosk, visitor information, restrooms, and other passenger facilities.
On weekdays, Amtrak ticket agents are available from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm.
From the airport, two METRO bus lines stop at the Portland Transportation Center.
METRO Bus Route 1
The waterfront, the Arts District, Hadlock Field, and the Old Port are just some places that may be reached by taking METRO Bus Route 1. The METRO Breez runs express service between the Portland Transportation Center, Yarmouth, Freeport, and the Brunswick Visitor Center daily.
Concord Coach Lines
Concord Coach Lines provides service to Auburn, Coastal Maine, Augusta, Bangor, and Orono. Visit https://amtrakdowneaster.com/stations/portland for additional details.
Portland Transportation Center
Concord Coach Lines (18 round-trips per day) and Amtrak Downeaster passenger trains stop at the Portland Transportation Center in Portland, Maine, United States (five round-trips a day).
It is also accessible by the Greater Portland Metro Bus Route 1 BREEZ express bus service to Brunswick, Maine, and the Megabus (through Concord Coach Lines). The station is open from 4:30 am to 12:15 am and from 2:45 am to 3:15 am.
The Portland Transportation Center may be found in the Libbytown area, roughly a half mile west of where Portland Union Station once stood. Nearby lies the Mountain Branch of Pan Am Railways, previously the Mountain Division of the Maine Central Railroad.
To save time and effort on backup moves, the NNERPA Board (which controls the Downeaster service) approved moving the station to the mainline in 2019.
After a two-year study, the Maine Department of Transportation recommended that Amtrak service be relocated from this station to a new facility near the historic Union Station on St. John's Street in Portland.
